Secret Hiding Place 2020
Using a bat detector, that I learned to assemble at Ayatana Artists' Research Program, I recorded audio in the area at a frequency of a bats-range-of-sound by converting their echolocation ultrasound signals, as they are emitted by the bats, to audible frequencies, usually about 120 Hz to 15 kHz. I then built an environment within a small room emanating artificial light and audio that I recorded with the frequency distortion.
